Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is a non-traditional approach to learning, which involves hands-on activities with the horse. This approach is a form of Experiential Learning that occurs when a person interacs with the environment including the people, animals and situations involved. The horse brings to the experience an animal of great size, whose nature is to flee rather than fight. The fact that the horse exhibits personalities, attitudes and moods as unique as any teenager provides phenomenal experiences and situations for discussion, analysis and learning. The horse and rider combination is used as a method to simulate the skeletal and muscular movements that occur naturally in the body.

Some of the treatable conditions through therapeutic riding include:

  • At-Risk Youth
  • Autism
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down Syndrome
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Physical or Emotional Abuse
  • Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
